TORRE VALENTINA, CATALONIA
The project is located in Torre Valentina, Catalonia. Surrounded by a superb pine green setting up the environment along with the sea and sky.
Set of six residential blocks, with a total of 78 homes. The housing complex is embedded in the topography of staggered both horizontally and in height, this allows users to enjoy sea views, while buildings maintain the greatest possible independence between neighbors.
The horizontal movement is organized through pedestrian streets in the middle of the two rows of houses. From east to west two nuclei of stairs work as linking axes staggered housing, cross streets and the beach, working in turn as lookouts.
The property is developed between two walls in a 3.5m it creaked causing houses with 6 meters deep in housing front row, while the back reach the 8 meters.
With three different types of apartments from one bedroom and one bathroom, to another two with bath, patio, terrace, living room and kitchen. Behind the apartments is a horizontal row with parking lots, various services and recreational area, which can serve as shops or kiosks, which open onto the pedestrian street.
The set is designed seeking to produce an integration between the six buildings and public spaces are green or built and the layout of the buildings is raised so that all rooms have views of the sea. The units open onto balconies through large openings that provide transparent closure, thus seeking to dilute the boundary between the outside and inside. The six buildings housing and common areas (kiosks) are connected by extending a flat prefabricated wooden deck.
The skin on the project is ventilated timber whose function is to avoid accumulations of water and moisture in the structural wall.
